After we switched to Kaspersky Antivirus, many of us might have encountered “Disk cleanup” alerts (balloon message in sys tray) quite often and observed that the speed of the machine has come down !!
Here is one possible solution that can speed up your machine; please follow the steps below:
1.Double click on Kaspersky icon in system tray
2.Click on Settings
3.Click on Data Files (node on the left) and change the values on the right to read “1” days and click OK
4.Click on Data Files under Service section and click on the Clear button on your right. Observe that the value against Size in Reports section reads below 100 MB after you click Clear.
Close the window and hopefully the machine responds faster now J .Also ensure that you have atleast 1.5 GB free space on your C:\ (or the drive on which the OS is installed) always.
